Is taking your product or service to market harder than you anticipated? Are you struggling with reaching a global audience? Do you find that not all your ideal customers can relate to your brand and the products/services you offer?
Relaunching your business gives you the opportunity for a fresh start. It takes a lot of time, effort and careful planning, but the return on a successful relaunch is invaluable!
How you relaunch depends on your business story and the goals you have set for your business. Before you start making any decisions, it’s important to take a step back and look at where you are on your business journey, and what resources you have to invest in a relaunch. Maybe your social media game is strong and you just need to revamp your brand so you can be more memorable in your target market. Or maybe you need to upgrade the look and feel of your outdated website so that it reflects your products/services and your value.
Lucky for you, we’ve just gone through a relaunch ourselves and we figured we could give you a few tips on why and how we did it.
There are a few different ways that you can relaunch your business without breaking the bank! Here are a few tips to get you started.
1. Build your social media presence
This one goes without saying. Social media platforms are extremely popular, highly user-centric, and (wait for it), absolutely FREE! So make use of them.
You can create engaging posts yourself, or hire a social media manager to create content for you and a designer to design the posts. You could also outsource this job to a social media marketing agency that would handle everything from content creation to designing, posting, and driving your marketing strategy, all approved by you of course.
2. Refine your products and services
Take a look at what your competitors are doing and see how you can learn from both their successes and failures. This information is key to improving your services and how you position them to attract and reach more customers. It also helps you identify gaps in your target market and opportunities for innovation.
We expanded our services and became more specific to give our customers the option to choose exactly what they want help with. Breaking down your services and products can really help customers identify whether your business is right for them.
Because we are a digital marketing agency, we broke down our services into 6 different offerings and created custom SEO content for every single one of them. This is a great way to narrow down your target market and actually reach a wider audience full of customers that are a better fit to work with.
3. Try out a partnership to create new growth opportunities (and lessen the financial and physical toll on you)
Hiring a solid team with the right skills in place is crucial to supporting you and your business. But have you considered collaborating with channel partners or entering a joint venture? There are risks associated with this, obviously, but finding the right partnership can help you make up for areas that you might lack expertise in.
Taking on a business by yourself can be a huge responsibility. It can drain you and your finances without you even realizing it (yep, we’ve been there!). A partnership can also help take away some of the financial burdens that come with your own business and give you a little breathing room to enjoy the finer things in life! And you’ll have more free time to do other things that you love and spend more time with your friends and family.
Loads of cool projects lined up down the track so you’re going to have to stay tuned for this one!
4. Revamp your brand design and website
Your business might be a victim of bad design. Design and User-Experience are fast becoming a vital part of the customer experience and improving your search rankings. Your business branding affects the impact you make on your customers.
Hire a really great designer to create a great brand mark for your business and make sure your developers are professional and reliable to get your site up and running as fast and efficiently as possible. You could also hire a digital marketing agency to do all of this for you so that you can get it done in a hassle-free manner.
We found that we wanted a more streamlined brand logo, which is why we went from…
Customizing your website’s design for a flawless user journey is a great way of attracting and retaining customers for your business. We modeled our new website on this logo and came up with a design to complement it.
DISCLAIMER: We also relaunched our website to mirror our expanded services and products with specialized content for each one. BUT relaunching doesn’t always mean that you need a fancy new website, although it does help. A website simply might not work for your type of business and that’s okay.
5. Perfect your customer service
If your customer service wasn’t flawless before, then now is the time to perfect it! Customer service ranges from quick replies to enquiries, to efficient email marketing, to providing useful content for them to learn more about a topic; these are all ways to improve your customer service and entice your customers to keep coming back for more.
These are just a few things we did to relaunch MASK Solutions. Every business is unique so you need to find the best possible strategy for your business. Always consider the financial and physical effort it would take to pull off a successful launch. You could approach an agency as well to tackle the revamp for you while you work on improving your daily business functions. Whatever option you choose, you should always create a secure, innovative strategy that will allow your business to build its business resiliency and make a lasting digital impression.
We’ve been planning this relaunch for a year now and we spent A LOT of time creating our ideal customers and narrowing down on our target market, fine tuning our services and products, building our team, identifying our weaknesses and coming up with innovative ideas to tackle them. We had a few steady clients who trusted us with their digital journeys and now we needed to get some traction and really stand out against our competitors.
According to Simon Sinek, successfully communicating your brand’s passion and mission can only be achieved by figuring out the WHAT, HOW and WHY of your business. But in our experience, we’ve found that what small businesses and start ups often struggle with the most is nailing their WHY and tying it down to tangible and measurable business goals and success criteria. It’s something we struggled with too for a while! Once you lose focus on this, it becomes harder for you to guide your team to success.
We had to realign all our core values to fit our renewed mission. As a team, we aim to put innovation at the forefront of everything we do, to help your business create a lasting digital impression and withstand ANY and ALL problems you may encounter. We want to help small businesses build their business resiliency to come out on top, EVERY SINGLE TIME.
